Frog Hopping Our Choice of a Pet Sport by Pets

Today is the day we love most. It's when everything in the RV shuts down and it's about the 5 of us spending quiet time together. Long long ago our human Masters use to do jigsaws puzzles but the day that JuneBug moved in it all ended. Cats? umpff....

If we had TV it would be about the football and well our Masters have no taste in their choosen teams at all - Male Master likes the Miami Dolphins in which he keeps quiet these days because if memory serves us right they yet to win a game and that makes the Female Master gleam from ear to ear like a Cheshire cat. Her team is the NY Giants - ok not too bad but better. We animals have our own choice too you know. Frog Hopping check out our video - and remember no frog were hurt or abused...

Why do we love it so - come on look at all those weird super funny humans moving in ways meant for something other then humans lol...

OK happy Sunday may you all have some quiet time to reflect. Off to nap now!!

Dog Parks and Our Girls

I know my dogs and I know that dog parks are not for us. So stop pushing me to go to one folks... I have a Alpha Female Rescue dog who was abused by a STUPID Rancher. And well when we adopted her we were told "NO CATS OR OTHER PETS"  and well we had a cat and he was staying no matter what. We worked with Milita and to everyone shock, she gets along with the cat. SO THERE! And to really make things interesting we went and adopted another dog and so here we go again - but easy as pie...

Our dogs are not like your dog - so stop thinking you know how to handle mine better. Everything from food to toys I have to hear it.

Knowing I have a Alpha Female I found this article:

When a group of dogs (3 or more) are allowed to run together in an area where there are no strong pack leaders (human pack leaders), they instinctively try to establish a rank order (or pecking order). If there are several dogs that want to assume a certain rank within this new pack there are often problems. Too often this results in dog fights to determine what rank a dog will assume.

so believe me when I say this to all these in my face folks - I have a lot of respect for my animals as well as other pet owners and why would I chance any fraction of a possibility of having my pets or someone else get hurt?

Also NEW FLASH:
The New York City Parks Department and the NYPD are looking into a threat against dogs in Central Park that was posted on Craigslist recently, according to DNAinfo. The Craigslist post, which has since been removed, announced there are “too many dogs” in the city, saying that there are “too many p–ing and s–ing everywhere. Kill them!” The post also states, “I am leaving poison in bits of meat and gravy dog food, poison the dogs!! (sic).” While the Parks Department knows the threat could be a hoax, they are “taking it seriously.” No dogs have been reported poisoned since the threatening post appeared online, but dog owners are alarmed nonetheless. To keep your dogs safe, be sure to keep an eye on them in the park, preventing them from eating items they find on the ground, and call 311 or 911 to report anything suspicious. http://myupperwest.com/upper-west-side/authorities-investigating-central-park-dog-threat-craigslist/

so again lady I am a pet owner who loves her pets and it's always going to be that way... I am not saying parks are bad they are not for us.

Name Calling Pets: Here we go - don't like my breed and so insulting them in front of me is not going to win points. I mean come on already - did I force you to walk up to my pup? Keep your comments to yourself when you have different views of peoples dogs. I mean come on your being rude. My Chihuahua gets the brunt of this all the time - and to the twit who called my dog a psycho "GET A LIFE"- if you don't like my dog then you don't like me but then if you liked me you'd like my dog...

People can be so cruel. From comments to the under the breath (duah I am not deaf) and the eye rolling - oh yes the eye rolling gets to me every time. Why? I don't get it... Our dogs are so happy and we are with them 24-7 and they eat well and they are loved... Be happy or be off!!

To all the pet owners if you do the dog parks do be careful - not only for the puppy sake but for your own - I've read lots of reports of adult/children being attacked to people putting posion in food and nails and such to hurt your pets. So keep your eyes open and enjoy your four legged pets....

Today's article may be harsh but it's for the lady who was a bit rude in regards to my pets - pushy bully and it's wrong of people to be this way. Now if I were abusive by all means of course be this way but we are none of these things. We love and honor our pets!! PERIOD..

A Cat Plus Dog Friendship

We are still in awww of this fact:
Milta and JuneBug

#A living under the same roof (Milita was one of the meanest dogs we've ever seen - wanted to kill everything in sight).

#B sleeping togethter

#C eating out of the same bowl at the same time (weird) and the same with the water dish)...

But don't get us wrong there is still a lot of stalking that goes on... Milita heards the poor cat almost 24-7 it's pretty amusing to watch!

Rawhide for Our Girls

Chewing... Contrary to the unfortunately very popular belief, those yummy little rawhide bone treats we give our dogs to provide distraction for our pets are actually quite bad for them.

We have never given our dogs rawhide bones before and the other day we did for the first time. They love them.... Like any toy whether for a child or pet you should always supervise your loved ones. Because everything in this world is bad for you when you get right down to it. This past summer poor milita had a major scare with chewing a stick - splinters and all.

We never leave them alone with their bones and put them up whenever we are leaving them... So our advice is always use caution.... And no we won't be giving our dogs future rawhide bones for a number of reasons - the main is the possible of swallowing a piece and they are unable to pass it through...

Dogs and Menopause?

http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/333-do-dogs-experience-menopause.htm

THIS IS WHAT WE FOUND UPON BEING SCARED TO DEATH THAT WE GIRLS - MILITA AND SNOWPEA WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS....
Q: My dog is 9 1/2 years old and has had her period for 22 days now, I know it can last longer that 3 weeks. At what age does the menstrual cycle stop? (Connie Jaworsky - New Jersey)

A: Females do not go through menopause though sometimes there may be a cessation in heat cycles for a period of time and then they can start back up again. As a female ages, her fertility does drop off but she will not go through menopause as humans do. It is also possible for senior dogs to become pregnant. Dropping off of fertility with age does not mean she cannot become pregnant.

Thank goodness for this because our female Master is going through the pre stuff and wow it's a relief to know the we are dogs. Yes we have the life...

Our new Snack we like as Pets

So our female Master is walking us girls pretty early one morning and well SnowPea found some new treat for us.

Don't get to excited for us - these where given to our Master one day last week - but that's ok because we know where they are near us - however eating them off the ground is a bit tricky. But these are so good to eat. Both SnowPea and Milita eat these - SnowPea will eat Huckleberries too but Milita really does not care for them - STRANGE??? these are wild raspberries

Smokey is a 15 year old Registered Blazer Gelding. The Blazers are bred for disposition, athletic ability, durability and heart. It’s because of that heart that Smokey is here today.

When I got Smokey as an eleven year old in 2008 he did not have a job. Basically green broke with perhaps 100 total rides in his life. Most of those rides had been up in the hills with a couple ...mountain hunting trips thrown in. I started using him in parades, O-mok-see’s (speed games on horseback) and in the competitive/extreme trail events offered. It was through the trail challenges that Smokey’s and my partnership became complete. When I was on his back there was nothing we could not do together. Then everything changed in an instant during a flag/drill team performance.

Smokey and I were involved in a horrible head on crash with another horse during the opening ceremonies of the Spokane Interstate Rodeo in September of 2010. The decision to put him down was made immediately – there was no question in my mind that he had broken his shoulder. To remove him from the public eye and make it easier to remove the body we decided to try and load him in a trailer. It was a long shot – the vet didn’t feel there was any way he would/could step into a trailer. When I got back with the trailer I remember the look in his eyes -- not crazed, scared, pain filled out of his mind look I expected but rather a huge soft ok mom whats next look of pure trust. Smokey hopped right in the trailer and that move saved his life. My vet standing watching swore Smokey raised/used that shoulder to get in the trailer. It was decided to take him home. Three hours later there was no swelling just a 3-legged horse and again Smokey’s eye was soft and calm with no sign of pain – we put off the decision till morning. It took about a week for all information, consultations, x-rays to come together with what they think really had happened. A horse’s scapula is attached not with bone but with muscles and ligaments. When we hit chest to chest with the larger horse it “peeled” Smokey’s scapula away from his body and tore/damaged the muscles, ligaments and nerves that surround it, hold it in place and are under it. Other muscles will take over for damaged ones but nerves do not heal. Smokey was put on a years stall rest with the known fact that he might still have to be put down at that time
.
Well nobody told Smokey that he might not have a future. He greeted you everyday with that huge soft trust in you look of his eyes. Every week showed improvement on how he used that leg. It did look horrible as the whole shoulder sunk in as the muscles died under the scapula. The vets said that the atrophy would never reverse – he would have a “sunken hole” in his shoulder for the rest of his life.

Fast forward to New Years Day – for the first time since the accident I turned Smokey loose in the indoor arena. He ran and bucked and farted doing flying lead changes and rollbacks while I sat and cried.

Fast forward to April ACTHA was doing auditions for America’s Favorite Trail horse. I had a Blazer gelding DJ that I signed up to ride. My audition location was Redmond Oregon – over 8 hours away. I called ACTHA to offer them Red Top Stables as an audition location since there were quite a few people in my area with the same long drive ahead. ACTHA said yes!! They were coming to me!! About this time I was telling my trainer that I really wasn’t happy with my audition horse DJ. We got talking about Smokey and just for the fun of it I got him out and trotted him around – he trotted sound!! After a long talk with my vets, chiropractor and trainer we saddled Smokey for the first time in 7 months just 8 days before the audition. Smokey did everything I asked like he’d never had a day off while again I just cried. So Smokey became my second audition horse with 7 days of 5 minutes twice a day riding to get back in shape after 7 months of rest after a almost life ending injury. If ACTHA had not come to me I would have never auditioned on Smokey!!

Smokey has never looked back since that day in April when I saddled him again for the first. We drove the 2400 miles to Texas and filmed the show. He has not taken a lame step or given us any cause to worry. The shoulder is no longer sunk in. The specialists that have been there all alone are amazed at his recovery and we all believe it comes right back to that 800lbs of heart in his 900lbs of body!

Check out the American Blazer Horse!! Durable, Athletic, Kind horses with TONS of heart. They are people horses that like to do things with their people!! www.blazerhorse.com

In 2010 Smokey and I were involved in a head on collision during the Spokane Interstate Rodeo. Smokey separated his scapula from his body tearing all the muscles and nerves that hold the shoulder to the body. The vets didn't have much hope for recovery but Smokey's spirit was so positive each morning that we kept putting off putting him down. Every week he amazed us as he just kept getting better and better. Just 8 months later Smokey was riding sound for the America's Favorite Trail Horse auditions and off to Texas we went for the filming which will air in September 2011 on HR-TV. On this show America votes for their favorite horse!!

Milita our Border Collie Says

This was take by my male Master. You see when my female Master is outside I do not relax because she is my full time job keeping an eye on her. When she runs I run when she walks I walk. And when anyone messes with her - they get a chunk of my verbal NO you don't...

I am a working dog even though my last Master (who was a complete abusive jerk and thank you ICARE for saving my life along with my sister Mindy). I don't herd sheep's or cows but I do dang good care of my female Master and my nightly treats is getting to sleep either next to her or at her feet. A true strong bond has grown stronger since being here in Idaho which makes this state awesome!!

Look at what the Dog Dragged in?

So Milita and SnowPea where playing outside when Master noticed me SnowPea eating ants... YUMMY is all I can say and there are a ton of them - after all we are in the woods. But then I seen a bigger delight only the famale Master said to the Master "Get the moth" and so he did and I lost out. <MAJOR POUT>

And so after the Master saved the very moth I was going to eat he went back to work. He's a crafter... But look at the love he has for us in the next picture... We are so lucky. The picture after that is his completed project.

Funny Pets

Hello everyone... You know Milita, SnowPea and most of all JuneBug do some major funny things but our Masters are the worst at catching us on video and so we had to share our favorite videos of Masters who have caught their furry fur balls at their some time not best moments. Enjoy (don't worry the video's are very short)!

About Me

My photo
madison, south dakota, United States
We are pets that travel with our Masters that go by the names Jorge and Evielynne. We are a male cat (JuneBug) a female dog (Milita) and a female dog (SnowPea)
